Today the second graders had their field day until 11 am and the fifth graders left on a field trip at 9:30 am. To accommodate these events, I worked on a revised schedule and swapped my afternoon third-grade groups with my morning second-grade groups.
Other than the slight change in schedule, everything else went smoothly. The kids were a bit more excited after having a fun field day, but they worked diligently when we began to code.
One of the most surprising and adorable moments of my stay at Belmont Station happened when I went to Mrs. Molthen's class at the end of the day. On the desk where we normally work were a thank you letter from Mrs. Molthen and Mr. Long and a jar of inspirational advice handwritten by Mrs. Molthen's class. The advice is for me to take to college and read anytime I feel down and depressed. I'll definitely treasure it and remember them everytime a read their notes.
