Today was my last and admittedly saddest day at Belmont Station. It all flew by so fast and I'm just not ready to leave yet, especially when the kids ask me whether I'll come to teach them again next year.
At this point, all the second and third-grade groups have finished their Dice Simulators and a good portion have finished their music programs as well. For the classes without Scratch logins, I gave them notecards with the Usernames and Passwords of the accounts they'd been using for these lessons so they could continue working on them if they wanted to.
I've really enjoyed my time at Belmont Station and hope that I have instilled an interest in coding within my students. I'm glad to have had the chance to work with them and wish them luck in the future.
I also just want to thank Mrs. Tyree and all the teachers who signed up for these coding classes. Without them, I would have never had the opportunity to work with the kids and teach them coding.
Yesterday Mrs. Molthen's class's gift was especially sweet and touched my heart. I will definitely bring it with me to college!
Also, I want to thank Andrew, one of the fifth graders I taught. He was not at all obligated to give me a thank you card, but he did and it brings me joy to think that he enjoyed my lessons.
Last, but not least, I'd like to thank Mrs. Tyree again for being such a wonderful community sponsor. She helped me coordinate with the teachers, provided me with the necessary equipment, and guided me when I was lost. I'm so thankful that I could be her Capstone student this year. Going with my dice themed project, she also gifted me a giant Yahtzee set as a graduation present. Thank you and I'll keep in touch Mrs. Tyree!!!
