Day Five: Playing Dice Games

Today, unfortunately, the fifth graders were absent because of SOL testing.  I hope them all the best on their Math SOL and hopefully tomorrow the SOL testing will not overlap with our Java session.  In their absence, however, I decided to make a simple tour of my working space during the time we normally meet.

Also, some of the Scratch groups got to playing their dice games!  For our purposes, I had the kids create two dice, the second one being duplicated from the first with some adjustments in its script.  Most of the games in my list, however, require more than two dice, so we settled for the "Round the Clock" Dice Game.  The groups that played had a lot of fun with it, so I gave their teachers copies of the games packet that they can use to play with at their own discretion.  Many groups, however, still have not finished their Dice Simulator yet so we will be working on completing those during the next few sessions.
