Day Four: Creating Dice Continued and Starting to Code in Scratch

Today, the students working on the Dice Simulator have made great progress!  Most of them are done creating the costumes for the die and have begun coding how to randomly generate different faces on the die when the roll button is pressed.  Some of them have even finished their Dice Simulator and will have a chance to play the Dice Games I prepared next time!

The fifth graders are working hard on the CodeHS curriculum and many have already made it through the third lesson.  They are progressing quickly and many of them seem to already have the basics down from previous coding experience in Python.  I may need to go back and revise my schedule to include extra programs that are not in the CodeHS Java curriculum since they seem motivated to go above and beyond.
